“Don’t act your age in retirement. Act like the inner young person you have always been.” – J. A. West
It has been nearly two years since I last posted on this blog. It has been a challenging two years, personally and professionally. Separation leading to divorce, Hurricane Maria and many highs and lows as the principal of a small secondary school in Dominica. In September I am starting a new chapter called “Retirement”.
I am planning to stay in Dominica since I can actually live somewhat comfortably on my minimal US social security. I love this country and have no desire to return to the US. I am still in good health and plan to do more hiking, swimming and snorkeling with my dog, Daisy. Dominica is one of the best places in the world for free diving and I recently took part in a training camp. I hope to continue to go deeper.
In retirement, I should have time to write more blog posts. I have been keeping a journal for the past two turbulent years and have lots of ideas. As a retiree, I won’t have to worry about my content and who I might offend. So please stay tuned!
